LoC is big ballin' now, baby!
Universal Media group recently donated about 200,000 master recordings to the Library of Congress. The collection features such recording artists as Louis Armstrong
, Ella Fitzgerald
, Billie Holiday
, Judy Garland
, Tommy Dorsey
, Jimmy Dorsey
, the Andrews Sisters
and other artists from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. The Library plans to digitize the collection and make them available as soon as possible.Now, how do I make fun of this bit of straight news? Well, think about what this implies. In 70 years or so, there will be a Library of Congress collection of "Creed
." Let that sink in for a moment. Past our lifetimes, someone will be stumbling around the future equivalent of the LoC website and find a "Creed" song. I will go and allow you to shudder.LA Times article here
