Banned Library Building Tour: Incident Report

Building Tour:  Incident Report 12881A
Librarian on Duty:  David Banning, Technical Services
Persons Involved:  Ronald Gazeti, transient; Alguen Ninguen, tourist
Nature of Incident:  Riot, computer damage, and missing persons
Action Taken:  Police, ambulance and fire department called
Names and information of authority responded:  All of them.

Account of Incident:
Alguen Ninguen entered the building for a tour of the Geraldine Godson Banned Memorial Library, its collection and grounds.  Word is Ninguen heard about the library from the library’s blog.

Ninguen toured the building, moving from section to section.  On the first floor, myself (Dave), Betty, and the children’s librarian met Ninguen.  Ninguen also came into contact with Ronald Gazeti, a local transient who has had problems with staff and patrons in the past (see previous reports 8779A and 122379B).  Gazeti became agitated by Ninguen but no problem happened at this time.

Ninguen continued to the second floor where he asked me (Dave) about our former reference librarian (Brenda, deceased) and the special cataloging project.  It is my belief after I left that Ninguen and Gazeti had another altercation causing Ninguen to flee the second floor.

In the computer lab area in the basement, Ninguen continued touring the library, but began opening “staff only” areas.  In the computer server room, patrons reported Ninguen and Gazeti had a final confrontation.  Gazeti beat Ninguen unconscious and proceeded to knock out both the computer servers and the power to the building.  Police were contacted as soon as it was noticed the computer network was down (Code Brown) but were not able to respond for 6 minutes, at which point a full scale riot had broken out leading to 4 casualties and 13 injuries.

In the resulting chaos, Gazeti fled.  A formal letter of restriction of all library services has been drafted for Ronald Gazeti if he returns.

The children’s librarian has not been seen since the incident.

Alguen Ninguen has not been seen since the incident.  It is believed that he was left alone in the dark library basement where he was eaten by a grue.
